Narendra Modi stadium

 Modi Stadium, also known as the Motera Stadium, is a cricket stadium located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is one of the largest cricket stadiums in the world and was inaugurated in February 2021. The stadium has a seating capacity of 132,000 spectators, making it the largest cricket stadium in the world by capacity.

The stadium was first built in 1982 and was named the Sardar Patel Stadium after India's first Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The stadium underwent major renovations in 2015 and was then renamed as the Narendra Modi Stadium in honor of India's current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who was once the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

The stadium is owned by the Gujarat Cricket Association and is used for both domestic and international cricket matches. The stadium has hosted several high-profile matches, including the 2011 Cricket World Cup quarter-final between India and Australia and the 2014 Indian Premier League final. In 2021, it hosted the first two Tests of the India-England series and also the Pink Ball Test match.

The stadium's construction was completed in a record time of two years, and it was built at a cost of approximately US$100 million. The stadium is designed in a bowl-like shape and has four entry points, one for each stand. The seating is divided into three tiers, with the lower tier having bucket seats and the upper tiers having bench seating. The stadium also has 76 corporate boxes, four team dressing rooms, a press box, and a clubhouse.

The Narendra Modi Stadium also has several state-of-the-art facilities, including a cricket academy, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a food court. The stadium is also equipped with a modern drainage system and a high-tech floodlight system, making it suitable for day-night cricket matches.

The inauguration of the stadium was attended by several dignitaries, including the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, and the Home Minister, Amit Shah, who is also the President of the Gujarat Cricket Association. The stadium was officially opened by President Kovind, who also unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the stadium.
