What is pi network

It was founded in 2019 by a team of Stanford graduates led by Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, and it operates on a unique consensus algorithm called the "Proof of Stake Velocity" (PoSV), which does not require the intense computational power that Bitcoin's "Proof of Work" (PoW) algorithm does. This makes it more accessible to everyday users who may not have the technical know-how or resources to mine Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

Pi Network allows users to mine the Pi cryptocurrency using their smartphones, which means that the process is less energy-intensive and can be done by anyone with a smartphone. The app also allows users to transfer and receive Pi, making it a viable cryptocurrency for everyday transactions. Pi Network is still in its early stages, and the value of the Pi cryptocurrency is not yet established on any major exchange, so it is considered a high-risk investment...

The Pi Network was founded by a team of three individuals:

1. Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis - a computer science professor at Stanford University who specializes in distributed systems and blockchain technology.

2. Chengdiao Fan - a software engineer who has worked at Google and on several startups.

3. Vincent McPhillip - a business and marketing specialist who has worked at various companies including Google, Morgan Stanley, and AngelList.

   

Together, they created the Pi Network in 2019 with the goal of creating a decentralized cryptocurrency that is accessible to everyone, even those without specialized technical knowledge or expensive mining equipment. The Pi Network uses a unique consensus algorithm called the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) that allows users to mine Pi tokens on their mobile devices without draining their battery or data.
